A subsystem of the Tamil Siddha medical system
Varmam or Marma therapy is a subsystem of the Tamil Siddha medical system. Varmam is a subtle energy that enables the functioning of the whole body, mind and soul. The places where these energies reside, and help to activate both body and life, are called Varmam points.
These points are reservoirs of pranic energy, distributed throughout the body at 108 locations. When the flow of pranic energy is affected by injury, stress, strain, abnormal physical activity, abnormal food habits and so on, it disturbs the metabolic and physiological activity of the organ or region concerned, which can ultimately result in discomfort and pain.

Before humans began to use herbs, metals, minerals and animal products as medicine, they found that they could use their own fingers to ease their ailments. This was called Kai Maruthuvam (hand-based treatment), now popularly known as Varmam therapy.
The objective of Varmam therapy is to stimulate the affected Varmam points through special manipulation and applied-system techniques (massage along a path) to unblock and energise the flow of energy towards its natural state, supporting the body in easing acute and chronic ailments and pain. Varmam therapy can also work independently of medicines.
Benefits of Varmam therapy
- A deep detox of negative energy within the body, allowing blockages to be released to promote self-recovery
- Activates the inner ability to rejuvenate and revitalise; balances blood and energy flow throughout the body
- Eases the symptoms of a wide range of ailments and pain, building on the body’s potential for self-recovery
- Works alongside other allopathic therapy to support the body’s response
- Suitable as a non-medicinal approach for acute and chronic pain

Our holistic approach supports lasting relief from back pain, sciatica and spinal disc compression. Therapies are included based on assessment:
- Doctor consultation, pre-condition assessment and detox

Migraine and headache
Migraine is a neurological condition linked to abnormal brain activity that affects nerve signals, chemicals and blood vessels in the brain. Another very common reason for headache is distress to one of the five sense organs.
Our holistic, long-term approach supports relief from migraine and different headaches. Therapies are included based on assessment:

Cervical pain / spondylitis
Cervical spondylosis is a general term for age-related wear and tear in the cervical spine (neck) that can lead to neck pain and stiffness. These issues are now common among the middle-aged and young, due to the use of modern gadgets and work environments.
Our holistic approach supports relief from neck pain, frozen shoulder, neck rigidity and hand pain. Therapies are included based on assessment:
- Doctor consultation for detox and supplements
- Detox therapy
- Varmam manipulation (minimum 3–5 sessions)

General body pain and weakness
Work-life imbalance, poor lifestyle, food habits and indigestion can contribute to general body pain, weakness, lack of interest, lack of appetite, anxiety, fear, low mood and weight gain.
The reason behind this is an imbalance of Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water) energies in the body. By regulating these through physical and mental practice, daily routine, diet and supplements, we help you regain your vital energies. Our integrated therapy, combining traditional practices, can support both physical and mental positivity:
- Varmam energy activation
- Manipulation
- Posture correction
- Pothu Thadaval (subtle-level massage)
- Ayurveda / Siddha supplements
- Self-therapies
Knee / leg / foot pain
Knee pain is most often related to the wear and tear of a joint over a lifetime, causing pain, swelling and stiffness as bones rub together. Contributing factors include heredity, a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, joint overuse and injury.
Our holistic approach supports relief from knee joint, leg and foot pain. Therapies are included based on assessment:
- Doctor consultation for detox and supplements
- Detox therapy
- Varmam manipulation (minimum 3–5 sessions)
- Varmam body posture correction
- Varmam Thadaval (applied procedure on the legs)
